History

Since its establishment in 1950, Fujicopian has continually developed new printing media to meet the worlds evolving information needs. In the beginning Fujicopian focussed on impact printing products:

• Carbon paper • Fabric ribbons • Ink rollers

Since then, Fujicopian has applied their ink coating expertise to the development of new applications. An especially noteworthy achievement was the advent in 1980 of Thermal Transfer Media (TTM) technology. This technology – developed jointly by Fujicopian and NTT – was nothing less than revolutionary and has spurred a whole new industry.

Thermal Transfer technology paved the way for remarkable advancement in printer design offering high resolution printing options with higher speed capabilities as well as increased resistance to abrasion and smudging.

Through the acquisition of a number of domestic and overseas industrial proprietary rights, Fujicopian has established a solid position both domestically in Japan and overseas via its subsidiaries.
